On startup I receive a prompt stating "files are waiting to be burned"
original title:Cancelling request to burn filesEvery time I boot up, I receive a prompt stating files are waiting to be burned. Original files are on a thumb drive (drive M) and system keeps creating drive O with same files. Burning to a cd or dvd does not cancel out the request.

Hi Epharoah, This issue may occur if the temporary storage area is not cleared. Method 1: You may follow the steps mentioned in the article below which addresses similar issue Music files are not cleared from the temporary storage area after you copy music to a CD in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/890735 Note When you delete the contents of the temporary storage area, you make this area available for another set of files and folders that you want to copy to the CD. The files are not deleted from their original location on your computer or from the CD. Method 2: Navigate to the location below and clear the contents of the folderC:\Documents and Settings\”Your user profile”\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning Thanks and Regards:Ajay KMicrosoft Answers Support Engineer---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Neither method works as I am on Vista Home Premium. I do not see Documents & Settings under my User Name\Profile. If I click on Documents, I get a list of all my documents. I tried locating a directory under AppData name CD Burning, but found nothing. Any further suggestions to offer...........please?Norman
